One of my favorite things about traveling is the opportunity to take pictures in a new environment. I'm sure I come across just as many great photo opportunities in Portland, but I don't happen to notice them as easily. Being a tourist give one a chance to escape the cool familiarity of daily life...maybe that's the reason that being a tourist is almost always equated with being uncool.
The reason we went to Erie, of all places, is that my sister has now lived there for 2 years and I haven't visited her once. Oh, and I hadn't met her dog, Riley, yet. Obviously the situation needed to be rectified.
We saw the sights around Erie.
We kayaked around Presque Isle.
We barbecued and roasted marshmallows.
We played Settlers of Catan. Lots of Settlers of Catan.
It was wonderful to get a peek into my sister's life out on the east coast.
Next, I'll share pics from our trip to Niagara Falls!
Happy summer travels!
