Guys, I don't even want to count how many blogs I have in my Feedly account. I'm not even going to guess. Let's just say that I'm a compulsive follower (but just an RSS feed follower, not like a cult follower). It's really quite inspiring to see how many amazing voices there are out there, how many inspiring ideas, talented photographers, and wonderful tastemakers who share their labors of love with the world. Often, I'll stumble across a new site and have to wonder..."this was here the whole time? How did I not know about this?"
With that in mind, I'd like to share a random sampling of some sites that keep me coming back. I hope some of them are new sources of inspiration for you!
I'd like to start with a blog that's new to me. This is Lifeblood has been a beautiful source of inspiration and comfort for me this week. Claire's encouragements and observations are so spot-on that I sometimes want to jump out of my seat and say, "Preach on!". Her posts focus on physical and spiritual nourishment, travel, and creativity. I know that this is a blog I'll be revisiting often.
Another blog that I alway enjoy checking in on is Cup of Jo from Joanna Goddard. It's basically lifestyle porn at it's finest with food, fashion, travel, and, well, just about anything pertaining to a life well lived (oh, and not to mention the occasional personal post about her adorable family). Her "list" posts always point me to great things I would have missed otherwise, I'm a sucker for lists!
When I want some ideas for how to add a dash of style into my home, I need look no further than Poppytalk, a Vancouver-based blog run by a husband and wife duo. I love that I don't have to be an heiress to incorporate their ideas since they feature a lot of DIY posts and affordable luxuries from brands like Ikea. I can only imagine what their house must look like (jealous!).
I started visiting Shutterbean for the recipes and stayed for Tracy's hilarious writing and fun links. Every Friday she posts here favorite web findings from the week and they are always delightful. Her recipes tend toward the family-friendly variety (she has a young son) and I often bookmark them when I'm looking for something to feed my boyfriend (who seems to want to eat like a young child).
Lastly, I'd like to direct your attention to The Bitten Word, a food blog with a mission to help us make use of all those food magazines that we (ahem, I) have acquired but not fully used. Zach and Clay, the couple who writes the blog, must subscribe to a lot of cooking magazines because they post recipes with honest reviews from a long list of sources. I especially love when they post all the holiday recipes (with links) from magazines like Bon Appetit. Their conversational style is always a pleasure to read and they definitely inspire me to get in the kitchen to try something new!
I could go on and on but that would totally cut into my blog reading time. Go forth and follow, fellow blog-lovers! And have a lovely weekend!
